Agreeing a result

What you are being asked

Some competitions ask both sides to agree the score before it is final: both players in a singles, either player of a doubles pair, and each team's captain in a team match. You have been sent here because a result with your name on it is waiting.

Agreeing

That is right records your side's answer. The result is final once both sides have agreed. Until the other side answers, it shows under Waiting for the other side, and they still see it waiting for them.

If one side never answers, most clubs let the result confirm itself after a set number of hours - as long as nobody has said it is wrong.

Disagreeing

That is not right asks what you think the score was and sends it to whoever runs the competition. Neither version is thrown away; an organiser sees both and decides.

If you cannot remember

Open the match. If it was marked rally by rally, every point is there and usually settles it in ten seconds.

If the window has closed

The result stands, and you can still ask whoever runs the competition to look at it. They can reopen a match, and doing so is recorded.
