What this screen is
The scoring screen. Two panels, one per player: tap the side that won the rally.
Scoring with no signal
It works with no connection at all. The score is worked out on the phone in your hand and published when a signal comes back - in a basement, on a court with thick walls, anywhere. The banner tells you how many rallies are waiting to publish. Nothing is ever lost.
Undo
Undo takes back the last rally, instantly, without asking, and it works across the end of a game. A long press takes back the last three.
Let, stroke and no let
These are permanently on the screen rather than in a menu, because they are the decisions that cause arguments. Stroke and no let ask which player appealed - which is not always the player who wins the point.
Scoring with a competition's link
A competition can have one scoring link for everybody - usually shared in the club's group chat on the day. Open it, say your name once (the phone remembers it), then choose your team, the team you are playing and the match. Only teams and matches still to be played are offered. You do not need an account, and your name is what others see as "being scored by".
Each team also has its own scoring link. It opens with that team already chosen, and the team cannot be changed - you choose only who you are playing and the match, and only that team's matches can be scored with it. Organisers copy it from the team's row on the Entries tab. It is also on the team's own page, under Score your matches. And each tie on the team's page has its own scoring link - Score this tie - with the team you are playing already chosen too, so you choose only the match.
Whoever runs the competition switches the link on or off - on the Competitions list, at the top of the Entries tab, or in the competition's settings - and can replace it, and the old link then stops working for everybody. Switching it off stops every team's scoring link too. A team's scoring link is replaced on its own, from More on the section's Teams table.
If somebody else is already marking it
One person marks a match at a time. You can watch, ask them to hand it over, or take it over if you run the competition - and taking it over asks you why.
The screen options
Screen holds three things: large print for a phone propped on a bench, saying the score out loud, and true black to save battery. All three are this device's, not your account's.
